Highlights in 2011

Newsletters (Spring and Autumn) were sponsored by the Councillors Brindle, Briggs, and Sumner.

Easter Egg Hunt and Hat Parade
170 children and their families took part. Launch of our own Mobility scooters at Towneley.

Mobility Scooters were bought and donated through sponsorship from the Towneley Hall Society; the Cooperative Community Fund; the family of John Banks; and LCC Marsden Resource Centre.
May Day – mobility scooters were in use, plants and bric-a-brac for sale.
Brass Band in the Park provided refreshments.
Heritage and Woodland Day – sale of plants, Tombola and bulb planting. We bought 6000 bulbs, to use with schools and the public, thanks to funding from the Skipton Building Society.

The Gardening Club planted 2000 snowdrops up Lime Avenue.
New bird feeders were bought for the Bird Reserve. The Friends fed the birds at Riverside throughout the winter.

Fitness Equipment installed at Woodgrove, sponsored by the Big Lottery, Awards for All, with installation by Burnley Borough Council workers.

Cards showing views of the Park and DVDs of Bird song were sold throughout the year to raise funds.
